Caroline Melear is a finance and public policy professional working as a Resident Fellow in Finance, Insurance, and Trade at R Street Institute, a free market public policy think tank. She is a Contributor for Young Voices, an op-ed Columnist for The Conservateur, and a former Contributor for The Daily Caller.
She has appeared on Fox Business, The Today Show, CBS Miami, and WPTV in addition to radio appearances on WNZF and Patriot Radio. She was the recipient of Maverick PAC's Future 40 2022.
She has a multitude of published works covering a broad range of issues including Florida homeowners insurance, the National Flood Insurance Program, The Dodd-Frank Act and credit card interchange fees, 401(k) investments in alternative asset classes, and a variety of social issues.
She previously served as the President of the Palm Beach County Young Republicans and on the Board of the Palm Beach County Republican Executive Committee. Caroline passed Level 1 of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) exam on her first attempt and plans to sit for Level 2 next June.
She graduated from Florida State University with a degree in Political Science and minors in Spanish and Computer Science. While there she served as the President of the Student Senate, a member of College Leadership Florida Class XIII, and a founding member of the FSU Student Foundation. She received the Outstanding Woman Leader Award and Senate Ethics Award and spent a semester interning in the Florida Governor’s Office of Adoption and Child Protection.
